Privacy Policy
Effective November 3, 2026 · Applies to the Pinvu Mac app and this website, operated by Pinvu (“we”, “us”).
1. Data that stays on your Mac
Notes, spreadsheets, slides, templates, meeting timers and linked transcripts are ordinary files in a folder you choose (by default inside your Documents folder). Pinvu reads and writes them locally. We never receive them. If you use iCloud Drive or another sync folder, that service’s own policy applies to those files.
2. Google user data
Connecting Google is optional. Pinvu uses Google sign-in only when you choose to connect Google Calendar or Google Drive. It requests these permissions:
| Permission (scope) | What Pinvu does with it |
|---|---|
See your Google Calendar listhttps://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.calendarlist | Lists your calendars so you can choose which ones appear in Pinvu. |
View and edit events on your calendarshttps://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events | Shows your events inside the app, and creates or updates an event only when you ask it to, including adding a Google Meet link to it. |
See, edit, create and delete only the Drive files you use with Pinvuhttps://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file | Syncs your notes with a Drive folder you pick, and reads a meeting transcript only when you choose that file. Pinvu cannot see other files in your Drive. |
How Google data is stored and protected
Calendar events and Drive files are fetched directly from Google to your Mac and kept there. They are never sent to our servers. Google sign-in tokens are stored in your Mac’s Keychain. All connections to Google use HTTPS.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent or share Google user data. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to develop, improve or train AI or machine-learning models. We do not allow humans to read it, except with your explicit permission for a specific support request, where needed for security or abuse investigation, or to comply with the law.
The one transfer Pinvu makes is one you start. When you ask the built-in AI assistant about a note that has a linked transcript, the note and that transcript are sent to the AI provider you connected (see section 3). It goes to your own account with that provider, and only for that request.
Removing access
Disconnect Google in Pinvu’s Calendar or Drive settings to delete the stored tokens from your Mac. You can also revoke access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Files Pinvu synced stay in your Drive and on your Mac until you delete them.
3. The AI assistant
The assistant runs through a provider you connect on your Mac: Anthropic (Claude) or OpenAI (Codex, signed in with your ChatGPT plan). When you send a request, the open note, any text you selected, the conversation and any linked transcript go directly from your Mac to that provider under your account. They are never routed through us. The provider’s terms and privacy policy govern that data, including whether it may be used for training; check your settings with the provider. Assistant history is saved on your Mac and expires automatically. You can use Pinvu without the assistant.
4. Invisible Mode and screen capture
Invisible Mode asks macOS to leave Pinvu’s windows out of screen sharing, screenshots and recordings. Some recording tools don’t honour this, so test yours. Pinvu doesn’t record your screen, camera or microphone.
5. Purchases, licenses and email
| Data | Why | Who handles it |
|---|---|---|
| Email, billing name and address, card details | To take payment and calculate tax. We never see your full card number. | Stripe |
| Email, Stripe purchase or subscription reference, license key, purchase status, download link | To deliver and recover your purchase and verify paid access | Us, stored on Cloudflare |
| A one-way hash of a Mac identifier and the Mac’s name | To activate your license on up to 3 Macs and let you manage them | Us, stored on Cloudflare |
| Email address | To send your license, download link and purchase recovery emails | Resend |
| Waitlist email (only if you join) | To tell you once when the iPhone app is available | Us, stored on Cloudflare |
| IP address | Briefly, to rate-limit abuse and keep the site running | Cloudflare |
We keep purchase records as long as tax and accounting law requires and as long as your license is in use. You can leave the waitlist or ask us to delete your data by emailing us.
6. Cookies and tracking
This website uses no cookies, analytics, advertising pixels or third-party trackers. The app has no analytics or telemetry.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict its use. Email support@pinvu.app and we’ll respond within 30 days. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
8. Security, children and changes
We use encryption in transit and private release storage. Download links are private and work while the license is active. Pinvu isn’t directed at children under 13, or under 16 in the EEA and UK. If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we’ll update the date above and, for purchasers, email a notice.
